Writing for corporate communications and marketing collateral.
If your job is to oversee the writing of anything more substantive than an inter-office memo, then you know how important communication can be, whether your audience is internal or external.
It makes good sense to turn over that important job to an experienced, capable freelance writer. I'll take some of the pressure off your already-swamped staff and inject a vital dose of perspective and objectivity to any writing project. You'll get agency-quality copy at a fraction of the cost.
In my 10 years as a freelance copywriter, I have helped clients persuade, inform, educate and, yes, entertain their stakeholders using the following formats, just to name a few:
Here are some of the most popular projects/services that clients ask for:
- Monthly public relations/marketing consulting and writing. Working on a retainer or per-hour basis, I draft communication plans, craft and send out news releases including follow-up, create e-zines or newsletters, update Web site content, and so on. Ideal for companies or organizations that don't have marketing or PR departments. Packages range from 5 to 20-plus hours a month and start at around $400 a month.
- Short-term, labor-intensive projects such as fundraising campaigns or new product launches. Such arrangements usually call for news releases, letters or appeals, case studies, Web site creation or overhauls, brochures, and the like. Fees are based upon the length and complexity of the project.
- One-time or occasional needs. These could be anything from an annual report to a white paper or speech to a press kit or Web site landing page. Fees are by the project.
I offer a no-obligation phone conversation to anyone considering using my services.
While we're talking, I'll want to know the following:
- The nature of your business or organization.
- The problem, need or opportunity you have, or the specific project you're thinking of.
- What motivates your target audience or prospects.
- Your timetable and estimated budget.
- What you hope to accomplish with your marketing or PR.
